"Kemin Oil Refinery" is one of the key oil refineries in the Kyrgyz Republic and is currently one of the leading producers and suppliers of petroleum products, as evidenced by its AAA category in the country's national registers. The plant is located in the city of Kemin, Chui Region. Since the Soviet era, the Kemin district and its administrative center, the urban-type settlement of Kemin, have been a developed industrial area with a number of industrial enterprises, including an electrical engineering plant, a linoleum and construction materials factory, a bakery, and a gold mining complex. The Kemin Oil Refinery continues to honor the proud labor traditions of both the district and the entire Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
The main activity of the enterprise is the production of refined petroleum products. It is important to note that from the very beginning, at the design stage of the enterprise, the main goal was to maximize the production of products from all fractions of oil obtained during its processing. The design capacity of the Kemin Oil Refinery is 100,000 tons of raw materials per year. This makes it a significant player in the domestic market, although it is smaller than the larger refineries in Jalal-Abad and Kara-Balta.
The structure of the production of petroleum products in Kyrgyzstan is dominated by the following:
- gasoline;
- diesel fuel;
- fuel oil.
Despite the fact that the republic's needs are met primarily through imports from Russia and Kazakhstan, the presence of its own processing facilities, such as the Kemin Refinery, is critical for the region's energy security. The plant uses a mixture of petroleum residues and heavy distillates as raw materials, contributing to the efficient use of resources within the country.
The activities of the Kemin Oil Refinery go far beyond industrial production. The enterprise carries a significant social burden, being a system-forming enterprise for the Kemin district and the entire northern region of Kyrgyzstan. The plant provides stable jobs for the local population, creating conditions for professional growth and decent earnings. As one of the largest taxpayers in its category, the enterprise forms a significant part of the budget of the Chui region, the funds from which are allocated to finance social programs, construction of roads, schools and hospitals.
The plant's participation in regional projects contributes to improving the economic environment and attracting investment to the region. With increasing attention to environmental issues, modern oil refineries are required to implement purification technologies and minimize their environmental impact. This work is an important part of the company's corporate responsibility towards the local community. Additionally, the company places a strong emphasis on engaging with the future generation. The plant collaborates closely with educational institutions in the region and regularly organizes tours of the plant for schoolchildren and students from technical schools.
Thus, the Kemin Oil Refinery is not just an industrial facility, but also a responsible partner of the state and society, making a direct contribution to the economic prosperity and social well-being of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
